Tara Amatrudo has been Principal of Connecticut River Academy since 2015. Prior to assuming her role as principal, Amatrudo was the assistant director at CTRA for two years and previously served as the school’s special education/SRBI coordinator. Amatrudo is passionate about providing a safe and accepting environment that utilizes innovative practices to accommodate students with different interests, talents, and skills at CTRA. Under the unifying theme of sustainability she works to promote inclusivity within the school and works closely with staff and students to foster a multicultural community that celebrates kindness, tolerance, and individualized learning.
Connecticut River Academy at Goodwin College is a magnet high school located along the Connecticut River in East Hartford. CTRA's sustainability theme provides hands-on learning in environmental studies and advanced manufacturing. CTRA also offers unique college and career experiences, including the opportunity to earn tuition free college credits.
